Description

Need help writing your college admissions essays?

The Secret to Writing’s College Admissions Essay Boot Camp® is an intensive, in-person, one-day experience for high school seniors and rising seniors. Students learn what colleges are truly looking for in a personal statement and leave with a strong, well-developed draft of their main admissions essay.

In one day, students will:

  • Learn how to write a great college admissions essay (what matters most, what to include, and what to avoid)
  • Choose a prompt from the Common Application
  • Write a complete rough draft during the boot camp with structured time and coaching
  • Get individualized feedback to revise, strengthen, and fine-tune their essay before they leave
  • Learn and apply our proven 10-step writing process, a framework they can use for future writing assignments beyond the college essay

Parents will have peace of mind knowing their student is getting personalized instruction and feedback in a focused, structured environment. To keep the momentum going, the boot camp also includes a follow-up essay review within 1–2 weeks so students can polish their final version after the session.

THERE IS LIMITED SPACE IN EACH OF THE IN-PERSON BOOT CAMPS. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. DON’T WAIT. REGISTER NOW! Students may choose to receive our virtual admissions essay coaching. Learn more here.

Ethics Statement

We do not write admissions essays for students. Students do the work. Please know that admissions officers are skilled readers of admissions essays, and can easily detect an essay that has been written, for example, by a parent or a professional writer. Our goal is to help students think through their ideas and ultimately, for students, themselves, to communicate their story through writing. We also aim to help students develop foundational writing skills. We believe that writing is an invaluable skill, which, surely, will benefit a student well beyond the application process. While we cannot promise that a student will be admitted to any particular college, graduate school, or professional school, we can say — proudly– that our services are time-tested and provide added-value. Our client testimonials speak to the quality of our work.
